Chen Peng is an associate professor in School of Sociology at Beijing Normal University. He received Ph.D. in Sociology from Tsinghua University (Beijing). After his graduation, he was appointed as a post-doctoral fellow in Public Management at Beijing Normal University, and have been working for Beijing Normal University since then. His recent research interests mainly focus on urban sociology and community studies, and social governance and social policy. He published academic articles in several kinds of journals, including Sociological Study, Journal of Public Management, The China Quarterly, etc., and some of his published articles were reprinted by China Social Sciences Digest, Xinhua Digest, Reprinted in Information Center for Social Science of RUC, and China University Academic Digest. He also published some media writings in People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Beijing Daily, etc., and co-authored several think-tank research reports. As a principal investigator, he has conducted several kinds of research projects, including National Social Science Fund, Humanities and Social Science Fund of Ministry of Education, Youth Studies Fund of the Communist Youth League of China, China Postdoctoral Science Fund, etc. As a sub-principal investigator, he also participated in several major projects of National Social Science Fund, Philosophy and Social Sciences Research of the Ministry of Education, etc. He received several honors and awards, including the 3rd Hopeful Young Scholars Training Program in 2015, and Excellent Freshman Mentor by Beijing Normal University in 2021, etc.
